About the Role

We seek highly qualified professionals to support our elementary-age students' daily routines. Georgetown Hill helps children in beforecare start each morning with confidence and ensures they arrive at school safely and on time. We also welcome children back from school with open arms and give them the support they need to excel as students and as individuals.

We are looking for Lead Teachers to join our School Age daycare programs at three convenient campuses:

  • Bells Mill/Potomac - Conveniently located near Cabin John and Bells Mill Elementary Schools
  • Congressional Plaza - Situated right off Rockville Pike with Metro accessibility
  • Montgomery Square - Easily accessible on Falls Road in Rockville, close to Interstate 270, Montrose Road, and Wootton Parkway

Responsibilities:

  1. Manage a split shift to provide care at both ends of the day
  2. Meet the educational needs and interests of preschool children using a creative and age-appropriate curriculum
  3. Supervise preschool children to ensure their health, welfare, and safety
  4. SUPPORT THE PHYSICAL, SOCIO-EMOTIONAL, AND DEVELOPMENTAL NEEDS OF EACH CHILD IN THE CLASSROOM
  5. Exhibit effective leadership among the classroom team
  6. Display excellent communication skills and positive interpersonal relations with children, families, colleagues, and community
  7. Maintain a consistent, safe, and positive learning environment for all students and staff

Qualifications:

The education/certification requirements for these positions for a Lead Teacher in our Twos preschool program must have a minimum of the MSDE 90hr School-Age Certification or a CDA with the School-Age Endorsement.

Our ideal candidate will have 1-3 years of relevant experience and possess the following credentials/skills:

    • Excellent understanding of child development principles and instructional strategies
    • Strong knowledge of MSDE regulations
    • A warm, friendly, and cool-tempered demeanor
    • Proficient technological skills, including Microsoft Office
    • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including grammar and reading skills
    • Exceptional attendance and punctuality
    • High organization and ability to prioritize and multi-task
    • Team-oriented and willing to work collaboratively

Per Maryland State Department of Education Office of Child Care regulations, all applicants must submit to and successfully pass a state and federal background check as a contingency of employment. Applicants for our federal center campuses must receive GSA-security clearance through a government background screening.


The estimated salary range for this role is $22-$25 per hour
