About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Crisis Counselor to join our Ventura Mobile Response Team at Seneca Family of Agencies.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide crisis support and stabilization services to youth in need, working collaboratively with the treatment team to ensure effective care.
  • Conduct comprehensive risk assessments to determine level of risk, needs of the youth, and explore strengths of the client, family, and community supports.
  • Develop and implement safety plans to minimize instances and severity of future crises, working closely with caregivers and outside providers.
  • Engage youth in therapeutic activities and projects, promoting healthy coping mechanisms and emotional regulation.
  • Maintain accurate documentation and paperwork, including mental health notes, time sheets, and assessments.
  • Participate in weekly supervision and ongoing training to enhance crisis intervention skills and knowledge.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in a related field.
  • At least 21 years of age.
  • TB test clearance, fingerprinting clearance, and any other state/federal licensing or certification requirements.
  • Valid driver's license, clean driving record, and insurability through Seneca Family of Agencies' insurance policy.
  • Proof of up-to-date COVID-19 vaccination.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Bilingual in Spanish.
  • Experience working with children/youth and families with complex and enduring needs.

  • Competitive hourly rate: $21.22 - $23.72 per hour.
  • Additional compensation provided upon passing bilingual language proficiency exam.
