We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Controls Engineer to join our team at Integrated Talent Strategies (ITS). As a Senior Controls Engineer, you will be responsible for designing and implementing custom automation machinery, collaborating with a multi-disciplined engineering team, and providing technical expertise to meet customer requirements.
Key Responsibilities:- Design and develop custom automation machinery, including PLC programming, safety systems, and HMI display layout.
- Translate customer requirements into design specifications, evaluate design feasibility, and provide technical expertise to meet customer requests.
- Source and program motors, drives, actuators, robots, vision systems, sensors, servo controls, and other equipment.
- Responsible for full system programming, testing, debugging, commissioning, installation, service, and upgrades.
- Execute complete electrical designs, create professional electrical schematics and panel layouts, and maintain a detailed bill of materials for accuracy.
- Write technical manuals for manufacturing personnel and customers, and maintain schedule milestones.
- Stay up to date with leading-edge technology and contribute to continuous improvement efforts across the entire organization.
- Proven programming skills in PLCs, HMI displays, and safety systems, with core platforms including Allen Bradley, Mitsubishi, and Siemens.
- System-level approach to the complete machine program with a high focus on recovery from start to finish.
- Experience in robotics, automation systems, vision systems, proximity and photo sensors, servo controls, and other related technologies.
- Competent skills with PCs, networking, device communications, integration, and design, including working knowledge of AutoCAD Electrical.
- Comprehensive knowledge of electrical component selection and panel layout design, including materials, safety, and labeling practices.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, for working with customers and team members.
- BSEE or BSEET with 5+ years' experience in industrial automation and controls development and commissioning.
- ASEE or ASEET with 10+ years' experience in industrial automation and controls development and commissioning.
- Candidates with other degrees and appropriate experience will be considered.
