POSITION OVERVIEW

The ideal candidate will be a seasoned Engineering professional with the capability to directly supervise a team of 5 to 10 employees. Reporting to the Chief Executive Officer, this position encompasses comprehensive responsibility for all Engineering functions within the organization. The role is pivotal in sustaining and enhancing the company's Engineering capabilities through strategic planning, implementation, and evaluation of steel tubular pole structure designs for electric utility transmission, substations, and distribution, alongside fostering employee engagement.

EXPERIENCE REQUIRED

  • A Bachelor of Science degree in Civil/Structural Engineering, focusing on steel structures, from an ABET-accredited university program.
  • Over 5 years of hands-on experience with national codes such as ASCE-48, -113, -7, and specific customer codes related to utility steel pole structures.
  • At least 5 years of progressive experience in the structural design of electric utility transmission, substation, and distribution steel pole structures utilizing PLS-POLE software.
  • Familiarity with AutoCAD is advantageous.
  • A Professional Engineer (P.E.) license is mandatory.
  • A minimum of five years of experience managing a team with at least two direct reports.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • A polished and dynamic professional with outstanding verbal, written, and presentation skills.
  • Proven proficiency in relevant laws, regulations, and management theories.
  • Effective supervisory capabilities.
  • Experience with multi-site responsibilities is preferred.
  • Confidence and composure to interact effectively with corporate stakeholders daily.
  • Ability to engage effectively with personnel at all levels within the organization.
  • Proficient in MS Office Suite applications, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Capability to conduct design and analysis of steel tubular pole structures using PLS-Pole software.
  • Experience in interpreting customer drawings and specifications, and providing insights for the development and review of fabrication drawings.
  • Ability to communicate material requirements, technical information, and specifications to other internal departments.
  • Knowledge of shop operations related to steel tubular pole structures.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Conduct structural design of steel tubular pole structures and their components.
  • Review and assist in all engineering aspects related to steel design, detailing, and fabrication.
  • Coordinate structural steel engineering activities with internal departments and external partners.
  • Plan, direct, supervise, and coordinate the work activities of subordinates and staff regarding Engineering initiatives and projects.
  • Maintain professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops, reviewing professional publications, and establishing personal networks.
  • Contribute to team efforts by achieving related results as necessary.
