Position Overview

The Capital District YMCA is seeking a Chief Executive Officer for our Troy YMCA Branch.

The Chief Executive Officer is responsible for the comprehensive management of the Troy YMCA facility, which encompasses membership services, promotional activities, program development, facility maintenance, volunteer engagement, staff training, financial stewardship, and fostering community partnerships, all in alignment with the guidelines set forth by the CDYMCA Board of Directors and the Branch Board of Managers.

Key Qualifications for the Chief Executive Officer:

  • A Bachelor’s degree in a relevant discipline is preferred, or equivalent professional experience may be considered.
  • A minimum of 8 years in a leadership role, ideally within a YMCA or similar nonprofit organization.
  • Proven ability to manage overall operations, including volunteer management, staff oversight, budget creation and monitoring, marketing strategies, and program innovation.
  • Experience in cultivating volunteer engagement and recruiting influential community members.
  • Strong interpersonal skills, along with effective organizational and communication abilities.
  • Capability to build and sustain partnerships with local organizations.
  • Preferred certification as a YMCA Multi-Team or Branch Leader.
  • Proficiency in engaging with diverse populations across various social and economic backgrounds.
