Job Summary

Lenovo is seeking a Thermal Engineer to join our team in server design. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in mechanical engineering and experience with thermal testing and simulation.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct thermal development and testing to improve the thermal performance and efficiency of our products.
  • Work with engineers to select fans, heat sinks, and other thermal solution components that meet performance requirements.
  • Provide mechanical and thermal review for prototyping boards.
  • Document and analyze simulation and test results.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering.
  • Currently authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis.
  • Experience conducting thermal tests to qualify server design.
  • Experience using CFD tools to predict operating performance of the server.
  • Modeling and testing skills to validate a design.
  • Data acquisition and ability to organize and summarize results.
  • Code skills such as Matlab, Python, or Java to automate data collection and report generation.
  • Knowledge of computer firmware code and algorithms that set operating points and fault conditions.
  • Knowledge of CAD, material strength, power consumption, and acoustics requirements and the impact of thermal designs on them.
