Job Summary:

New York Health Care, a leading healthcare organization, is seeking a highly skilled Intake Specialist to join our team. As an Intake Specialist, you will play a critical role in ensuring seamless patient access to our services.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Process patient referrals, demographics, and required clinical information in a timely and accurate manner.
  • Contact patients to educate them on our Managed Long Term Care Program and provide guidance on the enrollment process.
  • Verify eligibility and benefits of all Medicare, Medicaid, Commercial, and Managed Care Insurances using available resources and direct phone calls to insurance companies.
  • Collaborate with service representatives at Managed Care Insurance companies to verify eligibility and benefits for home care coverage and obtain initial evaluation authorizations for patients referred for home care services.
  • Enter required insurance information into our computer system to ensure accurate and timely reimbursement.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient clinical information and perform daily data entry of documents.

Requirements:

  • Bilingual in English/Spanish
  • Experience with Health Insurance preferred
  • Prior customer service/heavy phone experience
  • Knowledge of general office procedures and equipment
  • Excellent customer service and follow-up skills
  • Strong organizational skills with attention to detail
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and software navigation
