Senior Avionics Specialist, MQ-9

The Amentum MQ-9 CLS Specialist is a proficient and experienced technician specializing in aircraft electronics and Ground Support Station systems, adept at diagnosing and resolving issues across various electronic frameworks related to both aircraft and control stations.
Key Responsibilities:
Responsible for the upkeep of assigned UAS aircraft electrical generators, load banks, starters, relays, batteries, actuators, circuit breakers, switches, and aircraft instruments.
Utilizes advanced technical expertise to address intricate challenges that cannot be resolved merely by consulting manufacturers' manuals or similar resources.
Such challenges may include identifying circuitry locations and densities, assessing electromagnetic interference, isolating faults, and implementing engineering modifications.
Position necessitates a comprehensive understanding of circuit interrelationships, exercising independent judgment in tasks such as conducting circuit analyses, calculating waveforms, and tracing signal flow relationships, employing sophisticated testing instruments like high-frequency pulse generators, frequency synthesizers, distortion analyzers, and advanced computer-controlled equipment.
Required to document entries in aircraft logs and records, participate in shift change maintenance discussions, serve as a Quality Assurance representative, and provide guidance and technical support to junior technicians throughout all aircraft modifications and maintenance operations.
Requires a profound understanding of circuit interrelationships and associated systems.
Exhibits independent judgment and leadership in executing assigned duties in conjunction with designated guidance from Production Staff and/or Avionic Leads.
Must be capable of signing off work in either NALCOMIS/OOMA or IMDS.
Possesses knowledge and comprehension of CNAFINST and DAFI
Responsible for the maintenance, repair, and installation of various electronic equipment and related devices.
Utilizes advanced technical knowledge of electronic principles to identify malfunctions and applies skills to restore equipment functionality.
Performs all other duties as assigned as requested.
Minimum Qualifications:
Must hold an active Top-Secret US Government clearance
Note:
US Citizenship is required to obtain a Top-Secret Clearance.
High School Diploma or completion of relevant military and/or vocational technical school curriculum is required.
A minimum of three years of practical Aircraft Avionics and Ground Control Station (GCS) maintenance experience is necessary.
At least one year of hands-on experience with MQ-9 aircraft and GCS as an Avionics Technician is required.
Advanced knowledge of both basic and complex electronics maintenance and repair is essential.
Advanced understanding of RFF systems, components, and accessories is required.
Must possess advanced knowledge of technical publications pertinent to aircraft electronics maintenance.
Familiarity with the theory and principles of operation of engines, accessories, and components, as well as the theory of flight and electronic flight controls, is essential, along with a thorough understanding of electrical and electronic principles.
Must be eligible to obtain and maintain one of the following IAT Level II certifications: CCNA Security, CySA+, GICSP, Security+ CE, SSCP, or GSEC, in accordance with DOD M, commensurate with assigned duties within 90 days of hire or prior to the second deployment.
Must achieve a passing grade in all required courses/certifications for continued employment, as needed.
Must be able to lift, carry, and/or wear Military Issued Equipment exceeding 50 pounds for extended durations.
Must possess the ability to speak, read, write, and understand English.
Must submit an updated SF-86 within 30 days of hire start date.
Must have a current/active State Issued Driver's License.
Preferred Qualifications:
Eligibility for Top Secret Clearance with SCI is preferred.
An Associate degree in a relevant field is advantageous.
Current IAT Level I Certification is desirable.
Prior experience as a Defense Contractor is a plus.
SETTS experience is highly sought after.
