Primary Care Medical Assistant

Role Overview: As a Medical Assistant in Primary Care, you will be responsible for:
- Documenting the chief complaint of patients.
- Measuring patient vital signs and reviewing medical history and allergies.
- Conducting thorough medication reconciliations.
- Utilizing the Encounter Guide to address any open care gaps, including screenings for fall risk, depression, breast cancer, colorectal cancer, and diabetic eye exams.
- Rechecking elevated blood pressure readings.
- Completing necessary documentation in Epic for annual preventative visits.
In-Office Testing Assistance: You will assist with various in-office tests, which may include:
- Drawing blood.
- Conducting mental status examinations.
- Performing EKGs and walking oxygen studies.
- Executing point of care testing.
Appointment Scheduling: You will be responsible for scheduling follow-up appointments as needed, in accordance with office policies.
Qualifications:
- Education: High School Diploma or GED.
- Preferred Experience: At least 6 months of clinical healthcare experience, ideally in a primary care setting.
- Certification: Must possess an active Medical Assistant certification/registration (RMA, CCMA, CMA).
LPN Qualifications:
- Education: Diploma in Practical Nursing.
- Licensure: Active LPN licensure.
- Preferred Experience: At least 6 months of clinical healthcare experience, preferably in a primary care environment.
