Overview: As a Medical Assistant in Primary Care, you will be responsible for:

  • Documenting the chief complaint of patients.
  • Measuring patient vital signs and reviewing medical history and allergies.
  • Conducting thorough medication reconciliations.
  • Utilizing the Encounter Guide to address open care gaps such as fall risk assessments, depression screenings, breast cancer screenings, colorectal cancer screenings, and diabetic eye exams.
  • Rechecking elevated blood pressure readings.
  • Completing necessary documentation in Epic for annual preventative visits.

Additional Responsibilities: Assisting with in-office testing, which may include drawing blood, conducting mental status examinations, performing EKGs, administering walking oxygen studies, and executing point-of-care testing. You will also be tasked with scheduling follow-up appointments in accordance with office policy.

Qualifications:

Education: High School Diploma or GED.

Preferred Experience: A minimum of 6 months of clinical healthcare experience, ideally within a primary care setting.

Certification: Active Medical Assistant certification/registration (RMA, CCMA, CMA) is required.

LPN Qualifications:

Education: Diploma in Practical Nursing.

Licensure: Active LPN licensure is necessary.

Preferred Experience: 6 months of clinical healthcare experience, preferably in a primary care environment.
