About the Role

The Chief Human Resources Officer will lead the Human Resources Department in providing strategic direction and oversight to ensure the district's human capital initiatives align with the Jeffco Thrives 2025 strategic plan. This role will be responsible for developing and implementing HR policies, procedures, and programs that support the district's mission and goals.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead the development and implementation of HR strategies and initiatives that support the district's mission and goals.
  • Provide guidance and support to district leaders and employees on HR-related matters.
  • Develop and maintain positive working relationships with district leaders, employees, and external stakeholders.
  • Oversee the management of HR systems, including recruitment, talent management, employee relations, and benefits administration.
  • Collaborate with district leaders to develop and implement policies and procedures that support the district's mission and goals.
  • Provide training and development opportunities to HR staff to ensure they have the necessary skills and knowledge to support the district's HR initiatives.
Requirements
  • 7-10 years of experience in human resources, including experience working with negotiated agreements and employee associations.
  • Master's degree in Business Administration, Human Resource Management, Educational Leadership, or other related field.
  • Administrator License preferred. Professional in Human Resources (PHR) or Senior Professional in Human Resources (SPHR), or Society of Human Resources Management Senior Certified Professional or Certified Professional (SHRM-SCP or SHRM-CP) certification desired.
Working Conditions

The Chief Human Resources Officer will work in a fast-paced environment with multiple priorities and deadlines. The role will require frequent travel to schools, department locations, and community meetings. The successful candidate will be able to work effectively in a team environment and communicate effectively with diverse stakeholders.
