Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Human Resources Director to join our team at The Westin La Paloma Resort & Spa in Tucson, Arizona. As a key member of our HR team, you will be responsible for directing and ensuring the efficient administration and management of the Human Resources function, including recruiting, training, wage and benefit administration, compliance with statutory requirements, and associate relations activities.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide guidance and counseling to management staff and associates to maximize the quality and professionalism of the hotel staff.
  • Ensure associates are developed and utilized to their maximum potential by controlling the implementation, administration, and monitoring of all training programs.
  • Direct and instruct management staff in effective recruiting and interviewing techniques to ensure the hiring and retention of qualified and efficient associates.
  • Conduct interviews for all management positions and ensure compliance with all Company policies and procedures and Federal, State, and Local laws and regulations.
  • Direct and administer associate relations programs and activities to maintain a positive associate relations climate.
  • Monitor associate performance appraisal programs and analyze evaluations to ensure appraisal comments are appropriate and verify goals are measurable and achievable.
Requirements
  • 3+ years of Human Resources experience.
  • Bachelor's Degree preferred.
  • Hotel experience preferred.
  • Ability to deal effectively with all applicants and associates with tact and diplomacy.
  • Thorough knowledge of Human Resources practices and procedures as well as considerable knowledge of Federal, State, and Local laws and regulations pertaining to Human Resources matters.
