Mobile Healthcare Assistant

Role Responsibilities:

  • Possess a foundational understanding of diverse medical practices, tools, and technologies.
  • Basic knowledge of human anatomy, physiology, and medical terminology.
  • Demonstrated proficiency in essential Medical Assisting tasks:
  • Administering vaccinations
  • Monitoring vital signs
  • Conducting tests, including but not limited to COVID-19, HIV, and A1C, utilizing various collection techniques.
  • Ability to analyze test results, ensuring accurate data entry into electronic medical records (EMR).
  • Skilled in interpreting various forms of information, whether written, verbal, or visual.
  • Exhibit competence in medication management and administration with minimal supervision.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills to convey sensitive information clearly to diverse audiences.
  • Effective time management and organizational abilities, with a focus on prioritizing tasks to meet deadlines.
  • Familiarity with computer applications, including Microsoft Office Suite and electronic health records.
  • Work autonomously and collaboratively within a team, managing multiple tasks in a dynamic environment.
  • Identify and resolve standard issues by selecting appropriate solutions from established options.
  • Foster collaborative relationships with colleagues and other healthcare professionals to achieve organizational goals.
  • Ensure proper disposal of biological and hazardous materials in compliance with regulations and best practices.
  • Maintain accurate records and perform clinical and administrative duties while adhering to patient confidentiality standards.
  • Carry out administrative tasks such as report preparation and inventory management.
  • Engage in additional responsibilities as assigned that align with the role.

Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent education/experience.
  • Completion of an accredited Medical Assisting program as per the Medical Board of California's standards.
  • Vocational/Technical/Trade Certification is acceptable.
  • Medical Assistant Certification must be obtained within the first 90 days of employment.
  • BLS-Basic Life Support Healthcare Provider certification is preferred.

Additional Requirements:

  • This role involves frequent travel to various job sites.
  • Availability for consistent scheduling is required, with flexibility to work in different locations.
  • Bi-lingual candidates are strongly preferred.
  • To maintain active status, a minimum of three shifts per week is necessary.
  • Prior experience in phlebotomy and specimen collection is highly desirable.
  • Excellent communication skills and experience in a team-oriented environment are essential.
  • Proficiency in computer systems, including electronic medical records, is required.
  • Daytime availability is necessary, with flexibility to meet staffing needs.
  • Workdays may vary, with opportunities available throughout the week.
  • Ability to adapt to changing situations in the workplace.
  • Familiarity with software such as G-Suite and PrimaryBio is beneficial.

Work Schedule:

  • 8-hour shifts
  • Daytime hours
  • Monday to Friday
  • Weekend availability may be required

Physical Demands:

  • Ability to stand or sit for extended periods.
  • Occasional lifting of up to 40 pounds may be necessary.
  • Driving or sitting for up to 50% of the time is required.
