Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Calibration Technician to join our team at Express Employment Professionals. This is a temporary-to-hire opportunity in Austin, TX.

About the Role:

  • The successful candidate will be responsible for calibrating, troubleshooting, and performing minor repairs on instruments based on date received and expedite status as determined by management direction.
  • They will provide factory service to customers, tracking customer-related issues, and communicating all service issues to management in a timely and effective manner.
  • The ideal candidate will have strong communication skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • They must be able to lift 40 pounds and 41+ pounds as a two-person lift.
  • A valid driver's license is not required but may be beneficial.

Responsibilities:

  1. Calibrate, troubleshoot, and perform minor repairs on instruments based on date received and expedite status as determined by management direction.
  2. Provide factory service to customers, tracking customer-related issues, and communicating all service issues to management in a timely and effective manner.
  3. Communicate instrument service issues to management in a timely and effective manner.
  4. Maintain and process pertinent paperwork and records.
  5. Advise upper management on product development issues arising from product problems identified through servicing instruments and occasional technical support calls with customers.
  6. Recommend or perform minor remedial actions to correct problems.
  7. Use equipment and materials properly.
  8. Meet productivity standards.
  9. Complete projects correctly, on time, and within budget.

Requirements:

  • 2+ years of experience working as a technician troubleshooting and repairing instruments or related experience or education.
  • Experience with measurement tools I.E. digital multimeters, multichannel analyzers, oscilloscopes or other precision tools would be helpful.
  • High attention to detail and ability to follow detailed instructions.
  • Able to lift 40 pounds and 41+ pounds as a two-person lift.
  • Understanding safety and quality standards.
  • 20% -25% travel may be required to travel to other offices or customer sites.

Estimated Salary: $65,000 - $85,000 per year, depending on experience.
