Job Description
We are seeking a skilled Sterile Processing Specialist to join our team at Ascension Seton's medical facilities. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring the highest level of sterility and quality control in our surgical instruments and equipment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Inspect, assemble, and evaluate surgical instruments and sets to ensure quality and cleanliness.
- Operate sterilization equipment and inspect instruments, equipment, and containers for proper functioning and cleanliness.
- Perform decontamination procedures according to established protocols and instructions for use.
- Maintain accurate inventory levels to ensure availability of instruments for case carts.
- Conduct regular quality assurance audits of peers and equipment.
Required Skills and Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in a related field or equivalent experience.
- Current certification as a Central Service Tech (CST) or Certified Registered Central Service Technician (CRCST) from the Certification Board for Sterile Processing and Distribution (CBSPD).
- One year of relevant experience in sterile processing, preferably in a hospital setting.
