Librarian Position

Foothill De Anza Community College District is seeking a qualified Part-Time Librarian to provide general reference service and instruction on the use of print and electronic resources. The successful candidate will be responsible for conducting library orientations, participating in collection development, teaching Library credit courses, and participating in the development and delivery of public programs.
Key Responsibilities- Conduct library orientations to introduce students to library resources and services.
- Participate in collection development to ensure the library's collection is relevant and up-to-date.
- Teach Library credit courses to students, including instruction on the use of print and electronic resources.
- Participate in the development and delivery of public programs to engage the community and promote the library's services.
- Perform other duties as assigned, including administrative and student evaluations.
The Part-Time Librarian will work in an indoor, office environment with regular standing, walking, and sitting for extended periods. The position requires hearing and speaking to exchange information, vision sufficient to read various materials, and dexterity of hands and fingers to perform tasks.
Minimum Qualifications- Understanding of, sensitivity to, and respect for the diverse academic, socio-economic, ethnic, religious, and cultural backgrounds, disability, and sexual orientation of community college students, faculty, and staff.
- Minimum qualifications for this position as defined in the Minimum Qualifications for Faculty and Administrators in California Community Colleges published by the Academic Affairs Division, Chancellor's Office, California Community Colleges.
