About the Role

The Associate Director of Operations, Center for Biometrics Analysis, is a key leadership position responsible for ensuring the efficient and effective operation of the department. This role involves overseeing various aspects of the department's functions, including cost recovery strategies, digital platforms, infrastructure management, staffing allocation, and personnel management.

Key Responsibilities
  • Coordinate the utilization of space and oversee the maintenance and retrofit of a 21,000 square foot barrier facility.
  • Supervise the development and continual improvement of database systems and quality assurance programs.
  • Lead initiatives aimed at improving animal welfare, personnel safety and competency, and ensure compliance with relevant policies.
  • Create, implement and maintain systems and processes for planning projects, tracking progress, managing data and identifying and compiling metrics.
  • Ensure the achievement of departmental targets, including operational efficiency and financial health.
  • Deliver the annual operating budget and allocate and manage staffing resources for diverse projects and initiatives.
  • Oversee operations personnel management, including scheduling, training, coaching, and performance evaluation.
Qualifications
  • Excellent business communication skills.
  • 4+ years of experience in team leadership.
  • Minimum eight years of successful operations program management experience.
  • Proven ability to lead, train, and mentor staff effectively.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and team-oriented approach.
  • Proficiency in optimizing complex operations for efficiency and quality.
  • Advanced analytical and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to lead and build key relationships across diverse organizations.
  • Self-directed and able to thrive in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.
  • Exceptional organizational skills with meticulous attention to detail and disciplined follow-through.
  • Service-oriented philosophy that is responsive to internal and external customers.
