Overview
The primary role is to support the store manager in overseeing retail activities with a focus on Sales, Customer Engagement, Team Management, Inventory Oversight, Financial Planning, Merchandising, and Leadership Development.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver exceptional service to customers and encourage team members to prioritize customer satisfaction.
- Assist in formulating the staffing schedule to achieve store objectives through effective planning and organization.
- Promote and uphold service quality among staff by exemplifying strong customer service values.
- Support the recruitment process for all store positions and ensure adequate staffing levels for optimal customer service.
- Contribute to the performance evaluation process, setting goals for team members and ensuring regular assessments.
- Enforce company disciplinary procedures when necessary to maintain a productive work environment.
- Ensure training standards are upheld, enhancing product knowledge and operational expertise among staff for improved customer interactions.
- Maintain a safe working environment for both employees and customers, addressing safety issues promptly.
- Take charge of store opening and closing procedures, ensuring the security of all assets.
- Motivate team members to enhance overall store productivity.
- Assist in organizing monthly team meetings covering topics such as scheduling, sales targets, safety protocols, and new product updates.
- Collaborate with the manager and merchandising team to create and execute the merchandising strategy for various departments.
- Oversee the maintenance of store equipment and property, reporting any issues related to store assets.
- Assume the responsibilities of the store manager in their absence.
- Perform any additional tasks as assigned by the store manager or executive team.
Qualifications:
Required Skills/Experience: A minimum of 3 years in retail sales-related roles. Demonstrated knowledge of inventory management, merchandising, and customer service. Strong communication skills to convey information and policies clearly to customers and staff. Previous supervisory experience is essential. Ability to maintain confidentiality regarding records and information.
Education/Certification: A Bachelor's degree in Business Management or a related field is preferred but not mandatory. A valid driver's license with a clean driving record is required.
Additional Requirements: D&B operates Monday to Saturday from 8 AM to 8 PM and Sunday from 9 AM to 6 PM. Flexibility to work various shifts is necessary. Candidates must be able to stand for extended periods and lift up to 75 pounds (most lifting will be in the 10-25 pound range) to assist with merchandise movement and participate in store resets, remodels, and other projects.
