As a Family Support Specialist - Bilingual, you will play a vital role in providing support and services to families in their homes, promoting healthy relationships and outcomes for children and families.
Key Responsibilities:- Conduct home visits with families to establish trusting relationships and provide support and guidance.
- Prepare and facilitate activities for home visits using evidence-based curriculum and other supplemental materials.
- Provide parenting modeling, education, and other supportive services to families.
- Conduct developmental screenings and evaluations using standardized instruments.
- Make referrals to other services as needed and collaborate with community providers to provide comprehensive services to clients.
- Use bilingual skills to facilitate communication between families and program staff, providers, and partners.
- Prepare documentation and maintain client files in accordance with program requirements and NVFS guidelines.
- Enter data for record keeping and reporting to meet federal/state/program guidelines.
- Participate in regular supervision with Program Supervisor, providing regular updates and preparing case presentations.
- Oral and written fluency in English; oral fluency in Spanish required.
- High School graduate or GED; college coursework preferred.
- Infant Mental Health endorsement preferred.
- Experience working with or providing services to children (aged 0-3 years) and families.
- Ability to establish trusting relationships with an acceptance of individual differences.
- Willingness to engage in building reflective capacity.
- Proficiency in usage of basic technological tools, including laptops/computers, email, phones, and internet.
- Must be able to demonstrate and live the organizational values of Communication, Integrity, Respect, Collaboration, and Accountability.
- Successful completion of background checks upon hire.
- Ability to lift up to 25 pounds of baby items and program materials.
- May require clear Motor Vehicle Record check, valid U.S. driver's license, and own transportation.
- Must have reliable transportation to conduct client home visits, make regular deliveries to client homes, and visit other designated community locations.
- Within a 37.5 hour workweek, need to have the flexibility to make evening and/or early morning home visits two days per week in order to accommodate clients' schedules; occasional weekend work required.
