Position Overview:
Reporting to the Customer Service Supervisor at First Tek's Distribution Center, this role involves the daily assembly of components into aircraft wheels and brakes.

With the necessary training, the individual will conduct functional testing of completed assemblies and prepare products for shipment to clients.

This position also entails active participation in continuous improvement initiatives and project teams.


Key Responsibilities:
  • Inspect, clean, and assemble aerospace components into final products while performing required testing for product acceptance. The individual will interpret blueprints, specifications, and work instructions to execute mechanical assembly tasks.
  • Obtain appropriate work instructions for assigned tasks and collaborate with production planning personnel as needed.
  • Complete necessary documentation to meet all government and customer requirements.
  • Inspect products and finalize documentation as required, utilizing both manual and computer-based transactions.
  • Operate hydraulic testing equipment following proper training, use power hand tools, and operate auxiliary machinery as necessary.
  • Adhere to safety protocols and company procedures regarding environmental, health, and safety matters.
  • Engage in frequent heavy lifting and maintain mobility throughout the workday. Regular, consistent, and punctual attendance is essential, with potential for variable schedules and additional hours.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications and Education:
  • Proficient in routine mechanical and/or electromechanical assembly operations.
  • Able to operate various hand tools and machinery.
  • Ability to read and interpret company documents, including safety rules and operating instructions.
  • Good manual dexterity for working with small components.
  • Capable of identifying and resolving typical issues in the work area, selecting solutions from established options.
  • Effective oral, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Education: A secondary certificate/High School Diploma is required; technical training beyond high school is preferred.

Certifications:
Vocational training, apprenticeships, or equivalent experience in a related field.

Experience:
A minimum of two years' experience in a manufacturing environment is required. The individual must be able to read and interpret blueprints and possess necessary mathematical skills related to discrete part manufacturing. Must also be able to read product specifications and follow written work instructions.

Compensation:

The pay range for this position is $20.00-$21.00 per hour; however, the offered pay may vary based on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. This information is provided in accordance with applicable law and is influenced by market location.
