Radiology Technologist

We are seeking a skilled Radiology Technologist to join our team at St. David's Medical Center. As a Radiology Technologist, you will play a critical role in assisting physicians and radiologists in procedures requiring sterile technique, preparing and administering radiopaque contrast media, and assessing patient conditions prior to and during radiologic procedures.
Responsibilities- Perform diagnostic radiographic procedures and demonstrate technique to produce optimal studies.
- Correctly use all equipment in the clinical area, including fluoroscopy, c-arm, tomo, and portable units.
- Interpret physician orders prior to performing exams to ensure optimal study and practice safe radiation protection following hospital guidelines.
- Assist physicians and radiologists in procedures requiring sterile technique.
- Prepare and administer radiopaque contrast media needed for radiologic exams.
- Assess patient conditions prior to and during all radiologic procedures.
- Provide optimum patient care during exams.
- Corroborate patient clinical history with procedure, ensuring information is documented and available for use by licensed practitioners.
- Perform other department-related duties as needed.
- Perform minor equipment repairs and upkeep, communicating problems to supervisors or the communication log.
- Associate Degree in Radiologic Technology.
- Graduation from an American Medical Association-approved program in Radiologic Technology.
- Entry-level graduate Radiologic technologist will be accepted, depending on shift and technical responsibility.
- Preferred: Two years in an acute care setting as an X-ray Technologist.
- Licensed by the Texas Department of State Health Services as a Medical Radiologic Technologist.
- Registered in Radiology by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (R).
- Basic Cardiac Life Support must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date.
