Job Description

At Ideal Option PLLC, we are seeking a highly skilled Medical Billing Specialist to join our team. As a Medical Billing Specialist, you will play a crucial role in assisting in the revenue cycle functions within the billing department.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Submit medical claims to insurance companies and payers such as Medicare and Medicaid.
  • Review and appeal unpaid and denied claims.
  • Process patient and insurance refund requests in a timely manner and post payments and/or denials from insurance remits.
  • Assist patients in getting the correct information to apply for charity/Medicaid or a payment plan.
  • Maintain knowledge of current billing rules and trends for billing types assigned by attending seminars, workshops and watching webinars.
  • Ensure weekly, monthly, and quarterly department goals are met.

Requirements:

  • A minimum of one-year experience with medical billing.
  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and Internet.
  • A knowledge of chemical dependency and its effects on individuals, families, and communities is preferred.
