Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Registered Nurse to join our Trauma Intensive Care Unit (ICU) team at St. David's South Austin Medical Center. As a Registered Nurse in the Trauma ICU, you will be responsible for providing high-quality patient care to critically ill patients with complex medical conditions.

Responsibilities
  • Perform patient assessments, develop and implement individualized care plans, and evaluate patient outcomes.
  • Direct, monitor, and evaluate the care delegated to non-licensed personnel on the team.
  • Administer medications, complete treatments, and perform venipuncture as needed.
  • Provide educational materials to patients and families on care and treatments.
  • Notify the Charge Nurse and/or physician of changes in patient status.
  • Provide accurate and relevant patient information reports to the Charge Nurse and to the on-coming shift to ensure continuity of care.
Requirements
  • 1 year of experience as a Registered Nurse in an acute care setting.
  • 1 year of Critical Care and/or Trauma Nursing experience preferred.
  • Associates Degree in Nursing (ADN) from an accredited Nursing program.
  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred.
  • Current State of Texas Registered Nurse (RN) license or Compact Registered Nursing License.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) required as per St. David's Healthcare policy.
  • Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification required as per St. David's Healthcare policy within 1 year from hire date.
  • Critical Care Registered Nurse (CCRN) Certification preferred.
  • Certified Emergency Nurse (CEN) certification preferred.
  • Completion of Course in Advanced Trauma Nursing (CATN) preferred.
  • Trauma Nurse Core Course (TNCC) Certification preferred.
