POSITION SUMMARY:


The selected candidates will undergo a comprehensive 4-8 week onboarding and educational program, which includes rotations in operations and customer service. Upon completion, candidates will be positioned to transition into the role of Retail Personal Banker I.

This position is centered around utilizing a consultative sales approach to proactively identify and address the financial needs of both customers and prospects.

The Retail Personal Banker I plays a crucial role in acquiring new clients and enhancing existing customer relationships through various initiatives, including lobby engagement and tele-consulting.

Responsibilities include processing transactions and collaborating effectively with the platform team.

Accountability for risk management is essential, requiring open communication, raising concerns, and adherence to established policies and procedures.

Upholding a commitment to ethical behavior and ensuring a positive customer experience is paramount.


KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:


- Employ a consultative sales methodology and Financial Needs Assessment to develop a comprehensive customer profile and identify both current and future financial requirements.

- Maintain extensive knowledge of retail consumer and small business products/services, recommending suitable solutions aligned with our value proposition.

- Utilize approved marketing tools to proactively engage with customers and schedule appointments for financial reviews.

- Focus on cross-selling to the existing customer base while participating in outside sales activities, such as community events and business presentations.

- Foster strong relationships with assigned business partners, referring customers as necessary to deliver timely and comprehensive financial solutions.

- Consistently achieve or surpass customer satisfaction and individual/team production targets, contributing to year-over-year revenue growth.

- Provide support and guidance to customer service representatives regarding the sales and referral process.

- Promote a positive customer experience through professionalism and a friendly demeanor.

- Address customer inquiries confidently and take ownership of customer issues.

- Maintain confidentiality and trust in all business dealings.

- Adhere to established policies and procedures while managing the full range of retail products.

- Participate in the consumer loan and bank card processes, overseeing sourced loans from application to closing.

- Assist in the opening and closing procedures of the financial center as directed.

- Stay informed about retail procedures to mitigate fraudulent activities and minimize risk exposure.


SUPERVISORY ROLE:
No supervisory responsibilities.

QUALIFICATIONS:
- A college degree or relevant work experience that provides transferable skills, or a combination of both.

- Previous experience in the financial sector is preferred.

- Demonstrated ability to engage in sales activities aimed at acquiring new consumer households and small business clients, as well as cross-selling to existing customers.

- Proficiency in advanced mathematical functions for analyzing credit and financial data.

- Ability to represent Fifth Third Bank professionally in both appearance and communication.

- Knowledge of retail policies and procedures to make informed decisions.

- Registration under the S.A.F.E. Act is required at the time of employment through the Nationwide Mortgage Licensing System (NMLS).


WORK ENVIRONMENT:
- Standard office setting with extended periods of computer screen usage.

- Flexibility to travel within the affiliate for training and attend various classroom sessions as required.
