Healthcare Mobility Specialist

Job Summary:
This position is responsible for driving the Mobile Health Center, maintaining the unit, and functioning as a Patient Engagement Specialist. The candidate will oversee the unit's schedule in conjunction with Medical and Dental program supervisors. Responsibilities include schedule management, site coordination, and oversight of safety, cleanliness, and maintenance of the MHC and patient registration.
The candidate must be able to coordinate the delivery of care in various settings and adapt to changes as necessary. A clean driving record and the ability to drive large vehicles are required.
Duties may include:
- Transporting the MHC to and from multiple sites throughout the County.
- Ensuring punctuality and dependability, often being the first person to arrive on site and the last to depart.
- Working closely with sites to coordinate all elements of a successful event, anticipating needs, and resolving problems effectively.
- Preparing, distributing, and collecting consent forms from sites for health services when indicated.
- Ensuring appropriate contact is made with participants, parents, guardians, and partnership agencies as necessary to confirm medical history, insurance, or other pertinent information.
- Establishing and providing on-site support and coordination of patient flow.
- Confirming that the MHC is stocked with supplies and working with dental/medical personnel to ensure the unit is maintained in service-ready condition.
- Troubleshooting mechanical/functional/physical problems with the MHC or interior equipment that may impact patient/staff operations.
- Ensuring the team provides outstanding customer service.
- Managing the coordination of the use, maintenance, and storage of the MHC.
- Assisting in addressing repairs and minimizing downtime.
- Assisting patients/clients with forms.
- Registering/checking-in patients at sites and scheduling appropriate follow-up appointments.
- Updating demographics and scanning documents into Electronic Health Records.
- Maintaining a safe, secure, and healthy work environment by following standards and procedures.
- Demonstrating a caring attitude for patients' wellbeing and exhibiting cultural sensitivity.
- Strict adherence to all State, federal, HIPAA, CHCP, and accreditation agency rules and regulations.
Education and Experience:
- High school diploma.
- Valid Florida driver's license.
- Minimum 2 years of experience in customer service; healthcare experience preferred.
- Experience driving large vehicles highly desirable.
