Job Responsibilities

Key Duties:
  • The Child Welfare Services Coordinator is responsible for overseeing the integrity of foster family applications and home evaluations. This includes engaging in case discussions, providing mentorship, training, and support in alignment with agency policies and practices.
  • Ensures the safety, stability, and welfare of children by adhering to established policies and procedures, participating in case reviews, analyzing data reports, and attending mandatory training sessions.
  • Under general supervision, conducts licensing responsibilities, including but not limited to, ICPC referrals, kinship licensing, and foster home licensing. This involves performing home assessments, reviewing licensing documentation, scheduling necessary inspections, and preparing comprehensive evaluations for foster home licensing.
  • Participates in recruitment and retention initiatives for foster families, which may occur outside of regular hours.
  • Accurately inputs licensing data into the agency's database, ensuring all documentation is properly linked for the issuance of foster home licenses.
  • Engages in collaborative case discussions with supervisors and colleagues, as well as participates in relevant training and workgroups.
  • Builds authentic relationships with providers and external partners, responding promptly to inquiries and facilitating family team meetings as needed.
  • Maintains a proactive approach to self-care and seeks support to mitigate the effects of secondary trauma on personal well-being.
  • Achieves Certified Investigator certification within six months of hire and completes ongoing training requirements annually.
  • May be required to assist with emergency shelter duties as directed.
Minimum Qualifications:

A Bachelor's Degree in Social Work, Behavioral Science, or a related field, or a Bachelor's Degree in another discipline with one year of relevant experience.

Preferred Qualifications:
Completion of the application in full is required, including a resume if applicable. A valid driver's license is necessary, along with the ability to transport individuals and interact positively with children and adults. Flexibility for overtime, including weekends and emergency responses, may be required.
