The Advanced Patient Care Technician will be responsible for:

Qualifications

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

EDUCATION: A high school diploma or equivalent is required. Completion of Basic Dysrhythmias courses is necessary within three months of employment. Knowledge of Medical Terminology is preferred.

CERTIFICATION/LICENSES: BLS certification from the American Heart Association is preferred.

SKILLS: The ideal candidate will possess:

  • Experience in cardiac monitoring.
  • Basic computer and typing proficiency.
  • Strong communication skills, including excellent phone etiquette.
  • Good spelling and grammar abilities.
  • Fluency in reading, writing, and speaking English.
  • Experience with facsimile and duplicating equipment is a plus.

EXPERIENCE: A minimum of one year of experience in a healthcare setting is preferred.

SUPERVISION:

The Advanced Patient Care Technician will report directly to the Director or Clinical Manager.

WORK ENVIRONMENT:

The role involves exposure to bloodborne pathogens, and employees are expected to utilize all available protective equipment when there is a risk of exposure to infectious materials or hazardous substances. The hospital will provide cleaning, repair, and replacement of protective equipment.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS: The position primarily involves sitting for extended periods, with the need for regular changes in posture, including standing and walking. Candidates must be able to lift up to 25 pounds and assist in transporting patients weighing over 200 pounds using a wheelchair. The ability to listen to multiple conversations while performing tasks is essential. Safety tools will be provided to minimize the risk of injury.
