Job Description:

We are seeking human service professionals to support adults with developmental disabilities and/or autism in the community. The Community Support Specialist creates and facilitates outings designed to promote independence and confidence. Other objectives include increasing community involvement, developing new skills, building social ties, and connecting individuals with relevant opportunities to help meet their larger goals.

About the Role:
  • Supervise and oversee participants in the community on a daily basis to achieve their personal goals take part in activities and/or events.
  • Meet the basic needs of our participants while in the community, including assistance with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs) as required by the participant.
  • Implement Individual Support Plans (ISPs) and behavior plans as needed.
  • Maintain sufficient knowledge of participants' ISPs and personal needs to work with them in a meaningful and productive way.
  • Maintain tracking of receipts and expenditures for reconciliation.
  • Complete all required paperwork, including case notes on a regular and timely basis.
  • Drive personal vehicle or use public transportation to assist individuals in accessing the community.
  • Attend to basic first aid when needed.
Requirements:
  • One year of experience working with people with developmental disabilities.
