Job Summary

The American School for the Deaf is seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Human Resources Generalist to join our team. As a key member of our HR department, you will be responsible for supporting the recruitment, onboarding, and training of new employees, as well as managing benefits administration and employee engagement initiatives.

This is a diverse role that requires strong organizational skills, excellent communication abilities, and a commitment to upholding the highest standards of confidentiality and integrity.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Full life cycle recruiting for non-exempt positions, including managing logistics and due diligence
  • Conducting background checks, credential checks, and employee eligibility verifications
  • Managing the internal transfer list and collaborating with Student Life and CORE team leadership to facilitate smooth transfers
  • Posting open positions to external websites and managing the interview process for internal and external applicants
  • Assisting with the onboarding process for employees and reviewing, tracking, and documenting compliance with mandatory and non-mandatory training
  • Providing HR customer service support to internal and external customers and responding to inquiries regarding organization policies, procedures, and benefits
  • Maintaining knowledge of trends, best practices, regulatory changes, and new technologies in human resources, talent management, and employment law
