At CSS Corporation, we are seeking a highly skilled Environmental Analytical Chemist to join our team. As a key member of our laboratory operations, you will be responsible for determining the physical and chemical properties of environmental samples using quantitative and qualitative analyses.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Determine the physical and chemical properties of environmental samples using quantitative and qualitative analyses.
  • Perform a variety of EPA analytical methods, including SW, 8270, 8081, and 8082.
  • Screen and log in samples, prepare samples for laboratory analysis, maintain equipment, and order supplies.
  • Participate in planning and strategy meetings, suggest modifications to existing protocols and standard operating procedures, and participate in the evaluation of processes.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Chemistry or a related physical science.
  • 3-5 years of experience with environmental laboratory operations and familiarity with standard concepts, practices, and procedures within an environmental laboratory.
  • Knowledge of organic sample preparation and chromatography.
  • Familiarity with EPA methods for organic chemistry and OSHA HazWoper certification is preferred.
