Job Summary:

The Return Auditor is responsible for overseeing and managing the return process of goods within the warehouse. This includes auditing returned items ensuring accuracy in the returns process and maintaining detailed records. The role requires meticulous attention to detail strong organizational skills and the ability to handle discrepancies efficiently

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Audit Returns:
    • Inspect and verify returned items against return documentation and original purchase orders.
    • Assess the condition of returned goods to determine their status (e.g. resellable defective or damaged).
  2. Data Entry and Documentation:
    • Enter return details into inventory management systems accurately.
    • Maintain detailed records of returns including reasons for return and the condition of goods.
  3. Inventory Management:
    • Update inventory records to reflect returned items and adjust stock levels as necessary.
    • Collaborate with inventory control teams to reconcile discrepancies and ensure accurate stock levels.
  4. Quality Control:
    • Identify and report patterns or trends in returns to help address potential issues with product quality or fulfillment processes.
    • Coordinate with quality assurance teams to assess and address recurring problems.
  5. Process Improvement:
    • Provide feedback and suggestions for improving the returns process and reducing the rate of returns.
    • Assist in developing and implementing best practices for returns management.
  6. Customer Service:
    • Address and resolve any issues or questions related to returns from customers or internal teams.
    • Ensure a smooth and efficient return process to enhance customer satisfaction.
  7. Compliance and Safety:
    • Ensure adherence to company policies and procedures as well as compliance with relevant regulations and standards.
    • Follow safety protocols while handling returned goods.
  8. Reporting:
    • Generate regular reports on returns data including trends financial impact and other key metrics.
    • Present findings to management and suggest actionable improvements.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent; associates or bachelors degree in logistics business or related field preferred.
  • Previous experience in warehouse operations inventory management or auditing is advantageous.
  • Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
  • Proficiency with inventory management systems and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Excellent organizational and timemanagement skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Strong communication skills for interacting with customers and internal staff.

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to lift and carry items up to specify weight e.g. 50 lbs.
  • Capable of standing walking and performing manual tasks for extended periods.
  • Ability to operate warehouse equipment such as forklifts if required.

Work Environment:

  • Work is performed in a warehouse setting with exposure to various environmental conditions.
  • May require occasional overtime or weekend work based on warehouse needs.
