Job Overview

Position Summary

The Pickleball Program Manager is tasked with the creation, oversight, and marketing of pickleball initiatives. This role involves the systematic organization and scheduling of various activities, including clinics, leagues, camps, open play sessions, and tournaments. The aim is to maximize court usage through diverse programming options. The ideal candidate will possess the ability to instruct pickleball, maintain facilities comprising 21 pickleball courts, supervise personnel, and effectively communicate all pickleball-related activities to members and guests.

Key Responsibilities

  • Proactively develop, implement, and assess a comprehensive Pickleball program.
  • Oversee all club and pickleball-related activities, focusing on program development and promotion for all age demographics.
  • Plan, schedule, manage, and advertise leagues, round robins, drop-in/open play sessions, social events, tournaments, and lessons.
  • Create an annual calendar of pickleball events designed to attract new members while retaining the interest of current participants.
  • Utilize newsletters, the website, social media, and booking software to promote open play sessions, events, leagues, and tournaments.
  • Engage with players regularly to ensure their needs are met, understanding member preferences to proactively address them.
  • Design and implement successful leagues catering to various skill levels.
  • Assess court conditions to determine playability, including the authority to halt activities due to adverse weather.
  • Coordinate with internal and external parties to ensure the upkeep of pickleball facilities, including adjacent amenities.
  • Contribute to marketing strategies aimed at enhancing brand awareness and driving membership growth.
  • Monitor and compile performance metrics to present to management on a monthly basis.
  • Promote club memberships to prospective members.
  • Align daily operations with the cultural values of Soboba Casino Resort.
  • Undertake special projects and additional responsibilities as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Must be at least 21 years of age.
  • A minimum of one year of consistent experience in teaching pickleball.
  • Combination of education, experience, and training that equips the candidate with the necessary skills and knowledge.
  • High School Diploma or GED equivalent is required.
  • Ability to lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.
  • Capable of working both independently and as part of a team.
  • USPTA Pickleball Certification is a plus but not mandatory.
  • Must provide proof of eligibility to work in the United States.

Licenses and Certifications

  • Must obtain and maintain a valid Soboba Tribal Gaming Commission license.
  • Required to pass drug and/or alcohol testing.
  • Possession of a California Driver's License with a clean driving record (fewer than 3 points).
