Inventory Management Specialist

Job Description:
As an Inventory Specialist at Walgreens, you will be responsible for executing, monitoring, and training inventory best practices and standard operating procedures for the entire store, including both front end and pharmacy.
Key responsibilities include receiving, counting, ordering, and facilitating returns, as well as championing On-Shelf Availability and ensuring the accuracy of planograms.
You will also be responsible for reviewing and coordinating the proper use of reports and system applications, which have an impact on the accuracy of front end and pharmacy on-hand balances and pricing.
Additionally, you will execute and maintain front end and pharmacy asset protection techniques, and file claims for warehouse and vendor overages, shortages, order errors, or damaged goods, including prescription drugs.
As a leader on duty, you will engage customers by greeting them and offering assistance with products and services, and resolve customer issues and answer questions to ensure a positive customer experience.
You will also be responsible for organizing files and retaining all invoices/receipts/return authorizations necessary for all inventory activities, and assisting in the maintenance of inventory records, including receiving and posting of all products received at the store in all inventory systems.
Other responsibilities include supporting front end and pharmacy ordering by ordering expense items, monitoring pharmacy manual orders to identify excess orders, maintaining consigned inventory and orders as required, and ensuring all designated pull & quarantine item on-hands are updated and placed in the designated holding area.
You will also be responsible for maintaining accurate inventory counts, maintaining the accuracy of on-hand quantities, and ensuring the store maintains inventory compliance with state and local laws regarding regulated products.
As a team player, you will assist and coach store team on all package delivery activities, including scanning in and out of packages, completing all daily inventory functions, and package returns at Walgreens, and support the execution of Pickup Program.
You will also be responsible for completing any additional activities and other tasks as assigned, and attending company-based trainings for continuous development and completing all e-learning modules, including safety training requirements.
As a liaison between management and non-management team members, you will coach and develop other capabilities with inventory systems, and communicate assigned tasks to team members and report disciplinary issues and customer complaints to management.
This role requires a high level of attention to detail, ability to multi-task and manage execution, and experience in identifying operational issues and recommending and implementing strategies to resolve problems.
Preferred qualifications include previous experience as a shift lead, pharmacy technician, designated hitter, or customer service associate, and prior work experience with Walgreens, with an evaluation on file.
