Primary Responsibilities:

  • Performs a variety of patient care activities to assist physicians and nursing personnel, including administering injections, EKGs, phlebotomy, quality screenings, and various other procedures.
  • Delivers quality customer service and maintains established quality control standards.
  • This position will work directly with our Quality and Risk Adjustment market-based teams and providers with both our employed and contracted providers in the respective market position is assigned.

Required Qualifications:

  • High school graduate or GED equivalent.
  • Current, nationally recognized Medical Assistant certification or registration or the ability to obtain the designation within 180 days of employment.
  • Current CPR certification or the ability to attain the certification within 30 days of employment.
  • Basic computer literacy, including knowledge of Word, Excel, Outlook, and EMR systems.
  • Knowledge of medical terminology, ICD-9, and CPT coding.
  • Ability to travel frequently within assigned market.
  • Ability to be flexible and adaptable to change.
  • Current Driver's License and reliable transportation.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Graduation from an accredited Medical Assistant program.
  • 1+ years of experience as a Medical Assistant.
  • 1+ years of related experience in a medical setting.
  • Bilingual (English/Spanish).
  • Ability to react calmly and effectively in emergency situations.
  • Good communication and customer service skills.
