About the Role

Capital One is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Cyber Risk Management Director to join our Identity and Access Management (IAM) organization. As a key member of our cyber security team, you will be responsible for managing and improving our risk posture.

Key Responsibilities
  • Risk Management Thought Leadership: Serve as the subject matter expert on our risk management approach, frameworks, and processes, advising and guiding our team to engineer technology and processes that remove risk from the environment and improve daily operations in alignment with our strategic direction.
  • Program Management: Oversee the program management of IAM risk management, leading and collaborating with various teams to drive the execution of improving, creating, and validating requirements, processes, controls, and metrics to measure process efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Communication and Stakeholder Management: Be the point of contact for IAM Risk to the IAM leadership team and partners across the company, proficiently tailoring verbal and written communications to the audience's needs and levels, articulating our program's strategy, processes, intent, inputs, and outputs, related failure modes, and measurements when representing the department in projects, meetings, reports, and communications.
  • Issue Resolution: Manage the issue resolution process by proactively identifying and mitigating risk related to the delivery of projects and programs, resolving complex problems, and escalating breakdowns in the process by asking probing questions and identifying and involving the right stakeholders to correct breakdowns.
  • Cyber Assessment Preparation: Prepare the program and team for annual cyber assessments by working with the risk office to understand the assessment process and criteria, analyzing the program and team's gaps, and creating an action plan to remediate deficiencies.
Requirements
  • Education: Bachelor's Degree
  • Experience: At least 7 years of experience in cybersecurity or technology, 5 years of experience in process management, 5 years of experience in risk management, and 5 years of experience in people management
  • Preferred Qualifications: Master's Degree in Computer Science or Information Systems Engineering, 9+ years of project management experience, 8+ years of experience in change management in a technical environment, Business Process Management (BPM) certification, and Lean Six Sigma certification
