Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly skilled Psychiatric Nursing Assistant III to join our team at the Texas Department of Aging & Disability Services. As a key member of our inpatient care team, you will provide complex rehabilitative patient care services under the clinical supervision of a Registered Nurse. Your primary responsibility will be to maintain direct and ongoing therapeutic interactions with patients to promote living and social skills, encouraging progress towards a lesser restrictive environment.

Key Responsibilities:
Provide emergency, health, and personal care services to patients
Observe, report, and document patient conditions and behaviors
Interact with patients therapeutically and participate in individualized and unit-based programming
Maintain a quiet and restful environment to promote individual's rest and sleep (if working nights)
Facilitate the admissions process by reassuring the patient as they are evaluated and provided with the required documentation (if working in admissions)

Requirements:
Knowledge of patient care techniques and of treatment, therapy, developmental, and patient-centered recovery programs
Basic computer skills and documentation skills
Effective interpersonal and leadership skills
Ability to read, write, and understand English to effectively communicate and carry out verbal and written instructions
Ability to provide patient care, administer first aid, and conduct TIPS
Ability to work with others and accept supervision
Ability to train and provide guidance to others
