We are seeking a seasoned Account Director to lead our Consumer Practice in Chicago. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for driving multi-channel campaigns to success, coaching team members, and bringing to life innovative ideas that resonate with our clients.

Key Responsibilities
  • Critical Thinking: Utilize intellectual curiosity, creativity, and critical thinking skills to connect the dots and evaluate opportunities strategically, ensuring they break through and deliver on client goals.
  • Earned-First Storytelling: Understand the elements that make a story exciting, what brands are doing in the press and on social platforms, and what they should do next.
  • Communication: Develop and deliver compelling presentations, reports, and proposals that meet the needs of senior management and clients.
  • Leadership: Lead a team of talented professionals to execute flawlessly and to the highest quality standards, while fostering a culture of collaboration and innovation.
  • Client Service: Provide exceptional client service, counseling, and interaction with senior management at client organizations.
  • Project Management: Manage multiple projects simultaneously, ensuring timely delivery and meeting deadlines.
  • Interpersonal Skills: Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, colleagues, and agency partners.
  • Technical Skills: Proficiency in Microsoft Office, media databases, and social tracking tools.

  • Culture and Innovation: Understand what drives culture and has a passion for tapping into pop culture to reach broad and diverse audiences.
  • Financial Acumen: Manage clients' budgets and allocate agency resources effectively.
Requirements
  • A minimum of 6-10 years of experience in account management, with a background in consumer, consumer-tech, travel, fashion, and/or CPG PR.
  • BA or BS in Public Relations, Communications, Journalism, or related field.
  • Strong experience with both large-scale and start-up business environments.
  • Client interaction, media relations, and industry knowledge.
  • Effective team supervision, mentorship, and leadership.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills.
  • Management of earned media campaigns, including thought leadership, product launches, and earned-first creative campaigns.
  • Ability to counsel senior clients and their executives with flawless earned media strategy and creative storytelling.
  • Manage clients, team resources, and deliverables around major campaigns and programs.
  • Integrate earned media strategy seamlessly with digital, social, and paid.
  • Experience in new business development and organic business growth efforts in support of new business pitches.
