AP Rochester is seeking a highly skilled Fund Accountant to join our team. As a leading wealth management firm, we provide exceptional service to our clients, including individuals, families, non-profit endowments, pension plans, foundations, and insurance pools.

Key Responsibilities
  • Collaborate with an external bookkeeper to finalize quarterly accounting packages and annual financial statements for all Private Funds, ensuring accuracy, completeness, and timeliness.
  • Work with the Operations Team to ensure accurate reporting of each Fund's financial information on internal portfolio accounting software systems.
  • Prepare and maintain annual budgets for the Private Investment Team and coordinate with the firm's Controller to ensure these budgets are accurately reflected in the firm's financial statements.
  • Support the external bookkeeper in preparing and distributing tax estimates and K-1s for the Private Funds.
  • Coordinate with a third-party administrator to ensure auditors have the necessary information to evaluate the annual financial reports and accounting practices of each Private Fund.
  • Report the financial results of each Fund to various stakeholders and members of the Private Investment Team.
  • Provide periodic updates to Fund investors regarding the timing of key deliverables, such as tax reporting and audited annual financial statements.
  • Coordinate with a third-party to manage capital calls, distributions, and cash transfers for each Fund.
  • Perform ad-hoc analyses to support client inquiries and the investment function.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in accounting or related field.
  • CPA a plus.
Preferred Qualifications
  • At least 2 years of accounting or audit experience.
  • Experience with private equity funds a plus.
Desirable Skills
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office and strong knowledge in Excel.
  • Proficient with Sage Intacct and/or Juniper Square preferred.
  • Strong critical thinking skills with ability to collaborate and identify opportunities for process improvement.
  • Excellent written and interpersonal communication skills.
