Position Overview:

Gray Television, Inc. is seeking an Information Technology Specialist to address a temporary requirement within our organization. This role is expected to last for a six-month period and may be extended if necessary.

Key Responsibilities:


• Manage, maintain, and troubleshoot all technological systems at Gray Television.

• Execute routine maintenance tasks as specified by vendors associated with the company.

• Collaborate with the Chief Engineer and the Corporate IT Group to integrate new technologies and adapt workflows accordingly.

• Provide training and support to non-technical personnel for their daily operations.

• Diagnose and resolve issues with various computing devices, including workstations, peripherals, and software.

• Perform additional tasks as assigned.

Required Qualifications:


• Strong communication skills and a willingness to learn.

• Knowledge of Windows, Windows Server, Exchange, Active Directory, Virtual Machines, Linux, and Database Systems.

• Previous experience in an IT setting is preferred.

• Proficient in using PCs and graphic workstations.

• Technical aptitude and networking skills with the ability to quickly troubleshoot and resolve complex issues.

• Capability to manage all aspects of information security.

• High level of discretion when handling sensitive information.

• Excellent organizational skills.

• Ability to prioritize tasks in a dynamic environment.

• Collaborate closely with Department Managers and Supervisors on urgent operational matters.

• Skilled in providing hardware and software support to end-users.

• Strong interpersonal skills.

• Valid driver's license and a clean driving record (subject to review).

Preferred Qualifications:


• Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Network Engineering, or equivalent experience is preferred.

• Cisco certifications are a plus.

• Security certifications such as CISSP or CEH are advantageous.

• Experience with Linux/Unix, Firewall, SAN/NAS, and VMWare VSphere is considered beneficial.

Physical Demands:


• Ability to sit or stand for extended periods.

• Capable of lifting moderately heavy equipment such as cameras and monitors.

• May be required to work in varying weather conditions.

• Potential exposure to high noise levels or unusual lighting.

• Ability to work on lighting fixtures while using a ladder.

• Must reside within a reasonable distance from the workplace.

This role may involve an on-call rotation, requiring availability for emergency situations as needed.
