We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Training Instructor to join our team at the Department of Defense Education Activity. As a Training Instructor, you will play a vital role in ensuring the educational excellence of our students. Key Responsibilities
- Replacing the classroom teacher and taking on the responsibility of ensuring the educational and social development of students.
- Respecting the privacy and sensitivities of students and parents by controlling and restricting personal information to those with a need-to-know.
- Planning, organizing, and presenting information and instruction to help students learn subject matter and skills that will contribute to their educational and social development.
- Providing instruction that is compatible with the school and system-wide curricular goals.
- Interacting effectively with students, co-workers, and parents.
- Carrying out non-instructional duties as assigned and/or as needed.
- Adhering to established laws, policies, rules, and regulations.
- Following a plan for professional development.
- Reporting to and being supervised by the principal.
Requirements
- Proof of U.S. Citizenship required.
- Male applicants born after December 31, 1959, must complete a Pre-Employment Certification Statement for Selective Service Requirement.
- Candidates must reside within the local commuting area where the position is located.
- Local commuting area is defined as the geographic area surrounding a work site that encompasses the localities where people live and reasonably can be expected to travel back and forth daily to work based on the generally held expectations of the local community.
- This position requires a Tier 1 (T1) investigation with Childcare Checks since its duties require interaction with children and youth under the age of eighteen (18) years of age.
- Selectee must undergo Background Checks IAW DoDI 1402.5 (e.g. Local Files Check, State Criminal History Records Check, and NACI).
- Employment is subject to successful completion of a background security investigation and favorable adjudication.
- Appointment is subject to the completion of a favorable suitability determination and favorable re-investigation every five years.
- Failure to successfully meet/maintain these requirements may be grounds for termination.
- You will be required to participate in Direct Deposit/Electronic Fund Transfer in accordance with DoD Regulation 7000.14R.

Qualifications
Applicants must hold a High school Diploma/GED. Applicants who hold a Bachelors degree can be considered for the Teacher (Substitute) position. Please note you must submit a copy of your official transcript (in English).

We are offering a competitive salary of $16.25 per hour. This is a temporary, intermittent (on call, as needed) seasonal position for the remainder of the current school year and for following school year.
