Job Summary

The Data Analyst will play a crucial role in a collaborative team focused on improvement science, working on projects that promote a culture of excellence in healthcare.

This position involves acquiring, analyzing, interpreting, and reporting sensitive data to support performance measurement and health system improvement efforts.

The ideal candidate will be able to work independently and collaboratively to locate and validate data, identify data requirements, and communicate data specifications to team members and leaders.

They will be responsible for developing reporting/analytic solutions, drawing meaningful conclusions, and making recommendations for actions.

Key Responsibilities
  • Acquire, access, validate, query, and analyze data from data repositories using available tools (including Alteryx, Python, R, SQL, Power BI, or Microsoft Azure applications).
  • Utilize statistical techniques and data mining methodologies to analyze complex clinical datasets, identifying trends, patterns, and correlations within the data to derive meaningful insights and actionable recommendations.
  • Collaborate with researchers and clinicians to provide analytical support for clinical studies and research projects, assisting in study design, sample size estimation, data collection methods, and statistical analysis plans.
  • Create clear and concise visualizations, reports, and dashboards to communicate data-driven insights to investigators, presenting findings in a compelling manner tailored to the target audience.
  • Ensure the accuracy and reliability of clinical data by conducting quality assurance checks and implementing data validation procedures, identifying and resolving data discrepancies or anomalies.
  • Adhere to regulatory requirements and maintain strict confidentiality of patient health information (PHI) in accordance with privacy laws and ethical guidelines such as HIPAA.
Requirements
  • A minimum of five (5) years' experience with at least three (3) years working in data management, analysis, governance, reporting, or other BI related experience.
  • Requires least two (2) years healthcare data experience; more is preferred.
  • SQL and statistical experience and proficiency is required.
  • Ability to obtain Epic System's Cogito Fundamentals Certificate is required within 12 months of hire.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Master's degree with 2 years' experience preferred; bachelor's degree with 5 years of equivalent experience will be considered in place of master's degree requirement; AA or no degree with 10 years' experience.
  • Experience with clinical data sets preferred.
  • Experience with data visualization tools (i.e., Power BI, Tableau, or Qlik) and techniques to develop and deliver impactful data models and data visualizations.
Working Conditions

This position does not provide patient care. This role can be either remote or hybrid.
