GIS Analyst

We are seeking a highly skilled GIS Analyst to join our team at the City of Reno. As a GIS Analyst, you will be responsible for designing and developing geographic information systems databases and applications, performing analytical modeling, and providing technical support to City staff.

• Design and develop geospatial databases, web services, and applications using Esri's ArcGIS software
• Perform complex geoprocessing functions, including analytical modeling and three-dimensional renderings
• Develop custom web and mobile geospatial applications using APIs such as ArcGIS Java API or Google API
• Manage digital map layers and vector and raster data files within project workspaces
• Educate City staff on the use of GIS data, applications, and software
• Maintain data accuracy and publish maps for E911 dispatch and other departments
• Prepare technical documentation, reports, and summaries using GIS applications

• Bachelor's degree in GIS, geography, planning, computer science, or a related field
• Two years of professional-level experience in developing and implementing geographic information systems
• Knowledge of GIS software, programming languages, and data analysis techniques
• Ability to work in a team-based environment and communicate effectively with stakeholders

The GIS Analyst will work in a standard office setting with some travel from site to site. The position requires sufficient physical ability and mobility to work in an office setting and to operate office equipment.
