G-Net Construction Corp. is seeking a skilled Construction Estimator to join our team. As a key member of our estimating department, you will be responsible for preparing and coordinating full estimates for commercial projects, from small to large-scale developments.
Key Responsibilities- Estimate Preparation: Prepare and coordinate full estimates for commercial projects, including small commercial projects ($25k) to large commercial projects ($5mil).
- Vendor Management: Review and evaluate vendor/subcontractor RFPs, and assemble estimate take-off using Planswift.
- Project Management: Keep a record of project leads, active bids & submitted bids, and update the company calendar on Bid Due Dates, Walkthroughs, Site Visits, etc.
- Subcontractor Liaison: Solicit & Review sub-contractor estimates and revisions for completeness and accuracy, and review construction documents to understand the scope of work to bid.
- Field Surveys: Perform field surveys (measuring, pictures, etc.) of projects to bid, and attend site Pre-Bid walkthroughs.
- Cost Analysis: Perform quantity & cost analysis for outsourced labor, material & subcontractor pricing, and maintain own cost book pricing for materials and labor rates.
- Proposal Writing: Review project leads from The Blue Book and ConstructConnect, follow up on submitted proposals with Clients, and submit bid proposals, including required support paperwork, on time.
- Valid NYS Driver's License: Must have a valid NYS driver's license and own means of transportation.
- Communication Skills: Must possess excellent communication skills, and be detail-oriented.
- Estimating Experience: Must have prior experience in construction estimating, at least 3 years.
- Software Skills: Must have experience with using MS Excel, MS Word, and Planswift.
- Additional Skills: Experience working in an architecture firm is a plus, as well as basic plumbing, electrical, HVAC, and carpentry experience and/or skills.
