Project Control Specialist

POWER Engineers is seeking a skilled Project Control Specialist to join our Power Delivery Project Services department. This role is based in our San Diego, California office, with the option to work remotely from a mutually acceptable location.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Collaborate with project teams, managers, and engineers to develop and maintain accurate transmission project schedules.
  • Utilize expertise in complex project management, scheduling, and cost knowledge to interact effectively with diverse project team members.
  • Apply knowledge of CPM scheduling, Earned Value Management, and Schedule Risk Analysis to drive project success.
  • Develop and maintain project schedules, ensuring alignment with the execution plan.
  • Communicate project status and critical deliverables to project managers and engineers through regular updates.
  • Manage changes to project scope, budget, and schedule, ensuring transparency and awareness among project teams.
  • Prepare cost performance and cash flow projections using budget and cost-loaded schedules.
  • Update tasks and Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) as project progress updates are received.
  • Attend meetings as required, both internally and with clients.
Requirements:
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, with advanced Excel skills.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Ability to work in a matrix environment and adapt to fast-paced project schedules.
  • Desired experience in electrical utilities and power distribution, as well as knowledge of Oracle, SAP, SmartSheet, and Power BI.
