POSITION SUMMARY: The Customer Service Representative is the initial point of contact for clients visiting our Banking Centers. This role is crucial in ensuring accurate processing of financial transactions, providing essential account information, and guiding clients in selecting suitable products and services based on their financial requirements. Exceptional customer service is a key expectation for this position.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Efficiently processes a variety of financial transactions, including deposits, withdrawals, transfers, loan payments, and check cashing.
- Offers clients basic account information, such as balances, due dates, and recent transactions.
- Maintains a comprehensive understanding of all products and services offered by the Bank to assist clients effectively.
- Proactively identifies opportunities for consumer and small-business deposit accounts and loan referrals.
- Engages in all sales and marketing initiatives to promote Bank services.
- Addresses customer inquiries and directs them to the appropriate personnel for unresolved issues.
- Assists clients with safety deposit box access when applicable.
- Upholds the Bank's reputation by fostering positive relationships with clients and colleagues.
- Contributes to the achievement of Banking Center sales and service objectives.
- Handles incoming calls, providing assistance and routing inquiries as necessary.
- Performs various administrative tasks, including sorting and distributing work from other Bank offices.
- Records all transactions promptly and accurately, adhering to established policies and procedures.
- Maintains a balanced cash drawer in accordance with Bank policies, including currency transactions.
- Assists in the ordering, receiving, and distribution of cash as needed.
- Balances and replenishes cash in ATMs and the Banking Center vault as directed.
- Tracks information and prepares basic reports as required.
- Completes routine daily activities, including vault balancing and end-of-day tasks.
- Responsible for opening and closing the Banking Center as needed.
- Meets attendance and punctuality expectations.
- Complies with all applicable laws and regulations, as well as Bank policies.
- Participates in additional activities as assigned.
- Successfully completes technical and regulatory training as required by the Bank.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- 1-2 years of experience in banking, retail, hospitality, or a related field.
- Strong attention to detail and thoroughness.
- Excellent mathematical abilities.
- Proficient in computer usage and office equipment.
- Strong data entry skills.
- Exceptional customer service skills, including attentiveness and diplomacy.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality with sensitive information.
- Capable of working in a fast-paced environment.
- Sound decision-making skills, particularly regarding customer transactions.
- Ability to relate to individuals at all levels and navigate unique situations with sensitivity.
WORK ENVIRONMENT:
- Must be able to remain stationary for extended periods.
- Some travel may be required.
- Occasional lifting of up to 25 lbs.
- Regular use of computers and office equipment.
- Work in a climate-controlled office setting with moderate noise levels.
- May require working unpredictable hours, including weekends.
- Effective communication with co-workers, clients, and vendors is essential.
