Warehouse associates are crucial to our operational success. They actively, safely, and independently ensure the smooth movement of products through our distribution system while upholding quality standards. As a Loader, you will be responsible for transporting items into trailers using equipment such as pallet jacks and forklifts or manually.
The Loader prepares pallets of outgoing freight for dispatch and transports them while adhering to all safety protocols and ensuring quality standards are met, thereby maintaining an efficient flow of products through the distribution process. You will collaborate as a team member within the department and organization, performing any assigned duties to best support the company.
Key Responsibilities:
- Transport items designated for shipping into the trailer using a forklift, pallet jack, or manually, following a predetermined loading sequence.
- Move outgoing products from the staging area to the loading dock using a forklift.
- Wrap pallets with cellophane, secure loads, and ensure shipping labels are properly placed as necessary.
- Identify the correct slot on the trailer for the order, position it securely, and finalize the load.
- Remove empty pallets, cardboard packaging, and strapping to designated areas or receptacles.
- Inspect empty pallets for damage, stack them, and transport with a pallet jack or forklift to the appropriate storage area.
- Maintain cleanliness in the warehouse, loading dock, and trailers as required.
- Adhere to all preferred work methods, safety policies, and procedures in accordance with company guidelines.
- Ensure a safe work environment and report any unsafe conditions or actions immediately.
- Review work schedules, conduct safety checks on equipment, gather necessary supplies, and prepare for operations.
- Wear all required Personal Protective Equipment and Safety Gear.
- Inspect empty trailers at the loading dock to ensure they are clean and clear before loading, taking appropriate action as needed.
- Meet required productivity and accuracy standards as per location and company guidelines.
- Replace discharged batteries with charged ones and complete vehicle inspection checklists.
- Assist Order Selectors and perform other similar tasks as directed by a supervisor.
- Secure all equipment and complete necessary paperwork at the end of the shift.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
