Role Summary:

The Creativity Apps team is seeking a talented individual to contribute to the evolution of cutting-edge creative editing tools, leveraging groundbreaking technologies to inspire and engage both professionals and enthusiasts in the creative domain.

In this role, you will collaborate with elite teams responsible for renowned applications such as Final Cut Pro, Logic Pro, iMovie, and GarageBand, developing next-generation solutions for creators.

As a Senior Computer Vision and Machine Learning Engineer, you will partner with top-tier creatives, designers, and engineers to drive innovation in the creative sector, harnessing unique capabilities that only Apple can offer.

This position presents a highly visible and impactful opportunity to be part of a pioneering engineering team. You will be responsible for building state-of-the-art models and applications, collaborating with cross-functional teams, and delivering comprehensive features that empower the next generation of creative tools.

Ideal Candidate Profile:
The successful candidate will possess extensive experience in computer vision and machine learning, demonstrating a commitment to sustainable software development and the ability to drive features from concept to delivery. This role requires a self-motivated individual with exceptional interpersonal skills to effectively engage with all organizational levels.

Key Qualifications:
- Profound knowledge in the principles and practices of computer vision, machine learning, and deep learning techniques.
- Proven experience in delivering products within Computer Vision, Computational Photography, Multimodal LLMs/Foundation models, Generative AI, or related fields.
- Demonstrated success in training, evaluating, and deploying multimodal large language models or foundational models.
- Familiarity with RLHF-based large model training.
- Experience in applying parameter-efficient fine-tuning methods to enhance multimodal LLM reasoning and predictions.
- Experience optimizing models and algorithms for resource-constrained platforms is advantageous.
- A strong record of patents and publications in leading conferences is a plus.
- Proven ability to deliver high-quality software at scale.
- Proficient programming skills in Python and/or C++, along with experience in deep learning frameworks such as PyTorch, JAX, or TensorFlow.
- Familiarity with Core ML, Swift, and iOS/macOS machine learning development is a plus.
- Innovative problem-solving skills.
- Effective communication and collaboration abilities with partner teams.
- Commitment to fostering an open and inclusive work environment.

Education & Experience:
PhD in Computer Science, Computer Vision, Machine Learning, or a related field, with a minimum of 4 years of substantial industry experience in delivering products utilizing state-of-the-art computer vision and machine learning technologies. Alternatively, an MS degree with a proven track record of comparable industry experience is acceptable.

Compensation & Benefits:
At Apple, base pay is one component of our comprehensive compensation package, determined within a specified range. This allows for growth and development within the role.

The base pay range for this position is between $175,800 and $312,200, contingent upon skills, qualifications, experience, and location.

Apple employees have the opportunity to become shareholders through participation in Apple's discretionary employee stock programs.

Employees are also eligible for discretionary restricted stock unit awards and can purchase Apple stock at a discount through the Employee Stock Purchase Plan.
