Role Summary

As a key member of the Audio Session team, you will take charge of designing and maintaining software that integrates with the media policy engine, facilitating rich and immersive audio experiences across Apple's diverse platforms, including iOS, watchOS, tvOS, and visionOS. The audio team under AMT is responsible for foundational audio features such as Spatial Audio, Siri, FaceTime, and media capture and playback.

Key Responsibilities

  • Engage in problem-solving and contribute to the development of new features and functionalities.
  • Support developer-facing APIs for both first-party and third-party applications.
  • Lead a small team of engineers, focusing on the development and maintenance of both new and existing features.
  • Address and triage new issues as they arise.

Qualifications

Minimum Requirements:

  • Familiarity with digital audio technologies is advantageous.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Over 5 years of experience in software engineering, with a background in team leadership or management.
  • Proficient in C/C++ programming languages.
  • Experience with Swift/Objective-C.
  • Knowledge of systems programming.
  • Strong understanding of multi-threaded software development and debugging.
  • Experience with Audio APIs.
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or a related field, with a solid grasp of digital audio concepts.
