**Position Overview**

**Reports to:** Customer Experience Manager
**Status:** Non-exempt, 29 hours weekly
**Supervisory Role:** N/A
Objective
To deliver outstanding customer service and assist in daily operations aimed at boosting sales while aligning with the mission of Hope's Closet and its vision of fostering a community for individuals to explore and strengthen their relationship with Jesus Christ.
Key Responsibilities
- Act as a minister of the gospel
- Enhance sales through exceptional customer service and uphold merchandising standards
- Manage Point of Sale (POS) systems and handle monetary transactions
- Support daily customer experience operations
- Participate in store opening and closing procedures
- Collaborate with and guide serve staff
- Assist with donation intake and inventory organization as necessary
- Ensure the sales floor and cash wrap areas are well-organized
- Embody the mission, vision, and core values of Hope's Closet
- Serve as an ambassador for Hope's Closet
- Exhibit the ability to cultivate discipleship
- Possess strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Build relationships with customers and serve staff
- Thrive in a fast-paced environment
- Demonstrate effective organizational and problem-solving abilities
- 1-2 years of relevant experience, including retail or warehouse settings
- High school diploma preferred
This is a part-time, non-exempt role reporting to the Assistant Manager - Customer Experience. Workdays may vary based on store needs and events, with weekend and holiday availability required.
Participation in significant events throughout the year is encouraged to further the mission of Hope's Closet. Staff members are expected to engage in these events, which may result in store closures to allow for community involvement.
All staff are called to action to support the mission of Hope's Closet in fostering relationships with Jesus Christ.
Work Environment
This position operates within a professional retail setting, encompassing both sales floor and stockroom environments. The role primarily involves working on the sales floor, utilizing equipment such as cash registers, store phones, hand carts, dollies, ladders, and rolling racks.
Physical Demands
Must be capable of standing or walking on concrete surfaces for extended periods, bending, lifting, grasping, reaching, pushing, and pulling materials, navigating uneven surfaces, and climbing ladders and stairs, with the ability to lift up to 40 lbs.
