Job Title: Finance Manager

Join the Gulf Shores & Orange Beach Tourism team as a Finance Manager, responsible for overseeing the financial operations of the organization. This role requires a strong background in accounting and budgeting, with the ability to analyze and interpret financial data.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Supervise and direct the finance and human resource specialists.
  • Ensure compliance with accounting principles and practices, including Generally Accepted Accounting Principles and Governmental Accounting Standards Board guidelines.
  • Prepare and review financial reports, including monthly journal entries and reconciliations for bank accounts.
  • Coordinate the annual audit process, including reviewing and verifying financial data and preparing required reports and correspondence.
  • Manage the purchase requisition/purchase order system and review Simpleview inventory records to manage promotion merchandise stock.
  • Participate in staff review and department planning sessions.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's Degree or higher in accounting or related field and five to seven years of related experience.
  • Proven knowledge of accounting and budgeting principles and practices.
  • Ability to analyze, report, and interpret financial data.
  • Ability to direct and supervise.
  • Experience with an automated accounting system, including QuickBooks.
  • Advanced computer skills with Microsoft Office software, including Excel and Word.
  • Working knowledge of Alabama Sales & Use tax laws.
  • Able to be bonded.
